Why does God…

This post appeared 10/17 on my blog site https://wordpress.com/view/sacredinsightsblog.wordpress.com

So, earlier today I was scrolling through my Facebook news feed (such wonderful, insightful information <insert sarcasm>) and I saw a few posts about how could God do such a thing…how could He allow such a thing to happen…and the questions went on like that. I just scrolled past and didn’t give it much thought.

A few hours later, I was in the kitchen making dinner. As I was seasoning the chicken this thought (or God’s words) popped into my head. It was pretty profound.

God DOESN’T make or not make things happen. What is happening to us (usually something bad) at the time is not the result of God sitting up in Heaven at his desk saying, “Well, now, so and so needs to suffer a whole lot more so I’m gonna give them something terrible to deal with.” Uh, NO! It doesn’t work like that.

How it does work is that God puts us in situations or puts people in our lives that can help us through the illness or injury or whatever we feel God unfairly inflicted upon us. All we have to do is open our hearts and our minds and see how God is helping us.

So, tell me, dear reader…do you or have you questioned why God allowed something “bad” to happen? If you said no, I am concerned. Of course you have. We all have. It’s human nature. The challenge now is NOT to look what God has “inflicted upon you” but what God has placed in your life to deal with that “affliction.”

When you look at a situation from a different perspective, you might see blessings where you once saw burdens.

Until Next Time,

Dr. Jill
