Sometimes life is "boring." We go through each day without even thinking. It's SSDD, right? Yesterday, I was sending a video message to a friend. We do this frequently so that we can catch up and see each other's faces. Our messages to each other used to be filled with all sorts of craziness. Now, not so much. In fact, the words "my life is boring" came out of my mouth. And you know me, it got me thinking.
Is my life really boring? Depends on your definition of boring, I guess. My life is exactly what I want it to be and for that, I'm truly grateful and blessed. Don't get me wrong, it's not all rainbows and glitter 24/7 but all in all, I wouldn't change it. It took me many years and a lot of hard work to finally feel peace, security, and contentment. There is no drama, no bickering, no arguing, no nonsense. I love it. I work hard trying to juggle my practice, teaching, facilitating a group, and my home life. I get to go on adventures, take care of myself, have fun, love hard, and most importantly, LIVE! Life isn't meant to pass us by, it's meant to be lived.
For some, that can be overwhelming because it's something they are not used to. I wonder...is your life boring? Are you happy? Are you content? Is there a ton of drama that needs to be shut down? Do you need to set boundaries to keep the shenanigans to a minimum? Might you need to shake things up a bit to create a peaceful life? Are you choosing to be bored rather than living life?
Think about it. Let me know.
Until next time,
Dr. Jill
